Problems with iGPU driver and not more than 60Hz

Hello,

I tried contacting acer with the Email tool but it did work. I get a stupid button that dont work

but the problem

I have since the windows 11 24H2 update not more than 60Hz on a 2de monitor on HDMI and windows update is installing a driver for the iGPU form 2022 so I have blocked it in de regedit.

According to Intel the 2de monitor should connect to the RTX 3050Ti instat of the Intel Iris Xe but it is connecting to the Iris Xe.

With driver do I need the one form acer form 2022 or de latste form intel

how do I get more than 60Hz? I want 1920x1080 75Hz and 3340x1440p 120/175Hz

Thanks for posting. The registry tweak you applied blocks Windows Update from reinstalling the older 2022 Intel iGPU driver—it doesn’t cause a downgrade. But if hybrid GPU routing is broken and HDMI output is stuck on the Iris Xe, the system may be missing key components from Acer’s customized driver stack. Registry tweaks like that aren’t reversible unless you backed up the registry before the edit.

Best practice for Acer laptops:

• Use only Acer-customized GPU drivers. These are tuned for hybrid graphics and HDMI routing.
• Avoid Intel or NVIDIA generic drivers unless Acer has stopped updating your model.

To restore proper HDMI output and refresh rate support:

1. Back up your files.
2. Create a clean Windows 11 USB installer:https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
3. Boot from USB, delete all partitions, and install fresh.
4. After setup, install only the drivers from Acer: https://www.acer.com/ph-en/support/product-support/aspire-v-15-v5-591g

📌 This will restore hybrid GPU routing and allow HDMI to use the RTX 3050 Ti instead of the Iris Xe. The registry tweak can’t be reversed easily, so a clean install is the safest way to reset driver logic.
