Acer Aspire TC-1785 Need recommendations on a GPU that doesn't need a power connector from the PSU.

I would like to add a GPU to my Acer Aspire TC-1785. It has a 300W PSU. There's an open PCIe x16 slot, but I'm not sure if it's PCIe 3.0 or PCIe 4.0. Does anyone know?

As for the GPU, I need recommendations on a GPU that doesn't need a power connector from the PSU. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi GaryDAI

Your TC-1785 has a 300W PSU and one open PCIe x16 slot. That limits GPU options to models that draw power directly from the slot (no external connectors). You won’t be able to run two discrete GPUs safely on this setup—there’s not enough wattage headroom, and the board likely doesn’t support dual x16 cards.

If you're pairing integrated graphics with one discrete GPU, here are safe options:

    1. NVIDIA GT 1030 GDDR5 – ~30W, passive or single-fan variants available. Avoid DDR4 models.
    2. NVIDIA T400 or T600 – ~30–40W, workstation-grade, low-profile.
    3. AMD RX 6400 – ~53W, borderline for 300W PSU but works if system load is light.

Avoid splitters or risers—they’re unstable and not supported on OEM boards. Stick to single-slot, slot-powered cards for best compatibility.
