Nitro 5 AN515-58 – Intermittent Boot issues, blank display and driver Issues

I own an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 with motherboard ID LA-L973P (HH514) Serial Number: NHQGUAA001XXX. I have been experiencing the following issues:

1. Intermittent Boot and Display Problems
   
   
2. Sometimes when powering on, the laptop turns on (fans spin, power light on), but the display remains blank and the system does not load.
   
3. Occasionally, the laptop will turn off automatically after a few seconds.
   
4. I often need to power it on and off multiple times before it finally boots successfully.
   
5. This issue occurs both on cold starts and restarts.

Driver and Hard Drive Recognition Issues

1. The laptop had trouble installing some drivers; certain drivers repeatedly failed.
   
2. I tried formatting the internal drive using DiskPart, deleting all partitions, and performing a fresh Windows installation, but the drive sometimes remains “bit locked” or inaccessible.
   
3. To bypass this, I installed Windows To Go on an M.2 external enclosure and disabled TMP and secured boot, allowing the laptop to boot into Windows.
   
4. After reinstalling BIOS version v2.17 and some drivers successfully, I could finally reconnect the internal M.2 drive and boot Windows from it.
   
5. Despite this, the intermittent boot/display hesitation persists.

Additional Notes

1. Some drivers still fail to install properly.
   
2. This combination of boot instability and driver problems is very unusual and has been one of the rarest and most challenging issues I have encountered on a laptop.
   

I would like guidance on:

1. Resolving the intermittent boot and display issues.
   
2. Properly installing Windows and all required drivers so that the internal M.2 drive is fully recognized.
   
3. Ensuring the BIOS is correctly installed and stable.

The Nitro AN515-58-xxxx model was released by Acer in a few different configurations and specs, like gpu's and ram, the System Memory of Platform (LA-L973P/LA-L974P_DDR4) ws fitted with the DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram and the System Memory of Platform (LA-L992P / LA-L978P DDR5 was fitted with the DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 type ram, which the serial number that you have given means nothing.

Give us the exact specs of your laptop like what 12th Gen model cpu you have, what gpu and what ram type and if its DDR4 or DDR5. as all this information will help us give you a more precise answer and the correct specs of the hardware that you should have installed in your AN515-58. As the problems that you are having could be either software related or hardware related..

I suggest that you first make sure that you do a correct clean installation of Win-11 version 24H2 with all its updates to the last OS build: 26100.4946, so do the following:

1. Make sure that the boot M.2 SSD drive is not faulty, as the symptoms that you are describing above point to a faulty M.2 boot dive.
2. All Nitro AN515-58 laptops M.2 SSD1 boot and SSD2 drive slots are a Gen 4 x4 lane type M.2 SSD and the best and most reliable and quickest M.2 drive to install is the Samsung 990 Pro NVMe type drive, so I suggest that you use this drive.
3. Best installation boot USB is to use and follow the Rufus 4.9 guide
4. After you finish the Rufus 4.9 Win-11 bootable installation USB, you need to install the Nitro AN515-58 IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver version: 19.5.0.1037 at the Win-11 installation section of “Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver > where you install the version IRST 19.5.0.1037 > 09AB of this driver, so that the AN515-58 M.2 boot SSD is recognized and you can finish the installation.
5. Note: that its essential that this exact version Intel RST drive for the AN515-58 laptop is installed for your M.2 boot drive so that it operates properly.
6. After you have done all the above make sure that you finish the Win-11 24H2 installation and update all windows updates to its last OS build: 26100.4946.
7. For the best way to install the appropriate NVidia graphics drivers and for bets game settings, install the NVidia App and also make sure that you have the AN515-58 last bios version 2.18 installed.
8. For the laptop symptom of a post boot Black screen, you need to do a Hard Reset, by taking the battery out, short the bios battery mainboard plug pins and leave the laptop to reset for at least 30 min, and reboot the laptop with only 1x ram module, so that you can check if the ram is not faulty.
