I recently purchased Acer EK240Y P6 23.8 Inch IPS Monitor from Amazon. The Specs lists out that the device has 2x 2W speakers, but when I plugged in via HDMI, the monitor is working just fine, but Windows is not detecting any Audio Device & there is no sound.

Only the default speakers of the laptop is showing up.
In case of my PC, the same things is happening, there is no speaker being detected & no sound Output.
There are only 3 ports on back, 1 power port, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA.
What is going on here, is there some problem with the monitor I recieved?

    Hi @abzs ,

Some Acer monitors include built-in speakers, while others do not. The presence of an RCA audio-out socket or a 3.5mm headphone jack often indicates internal speakers. However, not all models with HDMI support audio passthrough.

For the EK240Y P6, Acer lists 2x 2W speakers in the specs, but actual audio output depends on the exact variant. If your unit lacks an RCA or audio-out port and Windows doesn’t detect an HDMI audio device, it may be a speakerless version.

Check the full model suffix (e.g., EK240Y P6bi) and confirm whether your unit includes audio hardware.
