Acer Aspire Lite - What are my storage upgrade options?

Windows 11 in S mode(I switched out of it)

Processor - Intel Celeron N4500

Memory - 4GB LPDDR4X

Storage - eMMC 64GB

It says Aspire Lite 15 by the touchpad. I opened the back of this laptop and I can't find the installed RAM and Storage, but there seems to be an upgrade option for storage; It's an open slot for storage. It looks like an nvme storage can fit in there. There was no nvme storage installed, as the 64GB storage is somewhere else in there. That open spot for storage doesn't have its screw and case with it. Do i need to buy those too along with the storage upgrade? Can I even upgrade this and what are the compatible storages?

Hi @Resilience On Acer Aspire Lite laptops, storage is typically soldered eMMC for the main drive, but many models include an empty M.2 slot for expansion.

If your unit has that slot, you can install an M.2 SSD — usually NVMe PCIe 3.0 ×4, though some may only support SATA M.2. Check the slot’s length (commonly 2280) before purchasing.

You’ll also need the mounting screw if it’s missing; these are standard M.2 drive screws and can be found at most computer shops.

RAM is often non‑upgradeable on this series, but storage expansion via M.2 is the usual path for an upgrade.
