Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 703B laptop only boots with one RAM stick after BIOS reset and repasting

Hello! I have a problem for a few days with my Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 703B laptop purchased last year 2024. I changed the CPU/GPU paste from it and I also removed the battery and I also reset the bios from there from the battery and when I tried to turn on the laptop it turned on the keyboard light and the fans but the screen remained black. And then I removed a ram memory card and it turned on.. but when I put the other card in it it didn't turn on and I swapped them between them and nothing, still with one card it starts regardless of whether it's in slot 1 or 2 or regardless of which card from those 2. After I updated the bios I removed the battery and I held the power button for 60 seconds. and the screen still doesn't want to turn on with 2 cards...
Does anyone know the cause? The cards are 8gb each DDR5 4800Mhz CL40 😥

You haven't done a full Hard Reset, so do the reset again and take the main battery out and then press the power key for 15 sec, then disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery (see caption below) and at the mainboard plug of this battery, with a metal screwdriver or tweezers short its + & - pins monetarily so that it resets the CMOS, then leave the laptop like that for 30-60min so that the EC, Chipset and bios chips reset properly. Then put everything back including the ram and see if the laptop reboots properly with the ram.

Short the red marked plugs +&- pins at the RTC/BIOS battery of your AN515-58 laptop.

If the laptop does not reboot, The problem could be that one of the ram slots pins is lose and has come away from the mainboard pins or the ram slot is faulty and needs replacing, then take your Nitro 5 AN515-58 to a technician and get them to analyse and pinpoint the exact problem of your laptop. Based on your description, it sounds like your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 703B may be using a DDR4-only motherboard, even though you installed DDR5 4800MHz CL40 sticks. Some variants of this model support DDR5, but others are locked to DDR4 only—so mixing types won’t work, even if the CPU supports both.

Also, if your RAM uses XMP profiles, that could be another reason for the boot failure. Most laptops—including the Nitro 5—don’t support XMP, and will only run RAM at standard JEDEC timings. If your modules don’t have JEDEC fallback (e.g., 4800MHz CL40 at 1.1V), the system may fail to POST with both sticks installed.

To confirm:

Use CPU-Z or HWInfo to check your current RAM type and motherboard model.
If it’s a DDR4 board, you’ll need to use DDR4 SODIMM modules (e.g., 3200MHz CL22).
If it’s DDR5-compatible, make sure your modules are JEDEC-compliant and not XMP-only.
