I recently ran a windows 11 update on my laptop and after that my fans have been extremely loud whenever I try to play a game. It was never like this before. My laptop is only a few months old (Nitro 16). Now even when I try to play even an old game that is not very demanding, the fans are blowing at max, making so much noise it is unbearable. How do I fix this?

Hi jobjoe, if you tell us your full Nitro 16 model, like PHN16-71, we can better advise you. Meanwhile update your BIOS version, select Balanced Power Plan and Best power efficiency mode in Windows Power & battery settings. Try to disable Processor Performance Boost mode in Advanced Power settings (see picture). If you don't see that option you have to unhide a registry setting (Attributes) with Regedit.exe (see 2nd picture), change the value from 1 (hidden) to 2 (show).

Full model number is AN16-42. I have now changed the power mode to best power efficiency. I have also disabled the processor performance boost in advanced power settings. This was previously set to "aggressive". It did not seem to fix the problem though. However, I went on nitro sense and changed the scenario mode from Turbo to performance. This immediately caused the fans to slow down, also when gaming. I dont know what this setting was before the BIOS update. But changing it to "performance" seems to have helped.
