I removed the broken DVD drive and am replacing it with an external drive. Does anyone know where one can source a cover for the empty slot? I tried searching on the number molded into the rear of the part but it's a no-go.

Thanks!

Hi @NW1 — good question! You’re right that Acer doesn’t make it easy to find these bezels, especially for desktops like the TC-780. Fortunately, Zandparts stocks original Acer dummy ODD covers that might fit or be adaptable depending on your chassis.

📌 Tip: Since the TC-780 has a curved front, it’s best to:

    • Check the molded part number on the removed DVD drive bracket
    • Contact Zandparts directly with your chassis ID or serial number
    • Ask if they have a matching bezel for the TC-780 or a compatible alternative

Why not leave the broken one in there ?

I assume that it has a cover ?
