Hello,
I have an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 with the following specs:
- Model: PHN16-71
- Manufacturing Year: 2024
- CPU: Intel Core i9-13900HX
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070
- Display: 16" WQXGA (2560×1600), 165Hz, 3ms
- Storage: 1TB SSD
- Original RAM: 16GB DDR5 5600MHz (2×8GB)
- BIOS Version: latest version
I upgraded to Kingston FURY Impact 64GB kit (2×32GB, 5600MHz, CL40) and now the laptop does not boot — only a black screen.
I tried:
- Both sticks installed → black screen
- One stick (32GB) installed alone → black screen
- Reinstalled old RAM → works fine
My questions:
- Does the PHN16-71 support 2×32GB = 64GB DDR5 RAM?
- Is Kingston FURY Impact compatible, or should I try another brand/model?
- Should I instead downgrade to 32GB total (2×16GB) from the same Kingston series?
- Is Kingston FURY Impact compatible, or should I try another brand/model?
Thank you for any help or official specs confirmation.
