Hello,

I have a Aspire 15 A15-41M-R7ZM (NX.KXAEG.001) and was wondering if the USB4 Port supports Thunderbolt?

And if it does which Version of Thunderbolt?

I am asking as I plan to buy a Dock and would like to know if I should by a simple USB-C Dock or a Thunderbolt (3,4 or 5) Dock? And also if in theory it would support an eGPU-Dock.

Hope someone has any knowledge or experience in that regard.

Thanks in advance

I dont see that your laptop has thunderbolt, because the laptop has a symbol on it.

Below is the specs for your laptop

Thanks for the info, but please instead of a screenshot provide a link to the source because after searching some more I found the following:

    https://www.acer.com/at-de/support/product-support/A15-41M/NX.KXAEG.001/details

As you can see it has a USB4 port, but it does not provide further infos what linkspeed it supports one 3rd-party site says it has 40Gbps:

    https://laptopmedia.com/review/acer-aspire-15-a15-41m-review-surprisingly-good/

The claim that the port supports 40Gbps is also supported by the specs provided by AMD:

    https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/laptop/ryzen/8000-series/amd-ryzen-5-8640hs.html

However I found no indication that it supports Thunderbolt, maybe I'll just buy a TB-Dock and try it and if it does not support it just send it back.

Anyway it is somewhat disappointing that Acer does not provide more detailed infos of the capabilities of the USB4 port, as the USB4 port designation alone just keeps you in the dark about what features of USB4 are supported.
