I was using my laptop last night and it was working fine, it discharged to 5% and I connected the charger and continued using it for 30mins more then shut it down disconnected charger and went to sleep.
Now when I'm trying to switch it on, on battery it doesn't turn on, so I connected the charger and the charging indicator shows up also it turns on now but after some time the battery charging indicator stops and in the task bar its showing a cross on the battery.
I generated a battery report (attached here), it says battery not detected..
I have already tried reseting the battery using the battery reset hole but no luck.
Please help.

Hi @Arc _Shaw, thanks for sharing the report and context.

From what you described — battery fully discharging, laptop refusing to boot on battery alone, and showing a battery “not detected” error despite earlier charge behavior — this sounds like a classic power rail failure, possibly involving the MOSFETs or gate control circuits responsible for battery handoff and charge detection.

📉 Unfortunately, without a full hardware report, it's difficult to pinpoint exact timing of the failure, but these symptoms often arise from:

    • A partial or unstable rail dropout (common in aging boards)
    • DC-in control logic failing to switch between battery and AC
    • Or damage to the charging controller ICs, especially if the system was allowed to discharge too low repeatedly.

🔧 Recommendation: I’d strongly advise taking the laptop to an official Acer Service Center in your country. They’ll have the tools to:

    • Check main power rails and FET integrity
    • Run diagnostics on DC-in/battery switching circuits
    • Confirm whether the battery itself is at fault or if it’s the logic board not recognizing it

🛠️ If you instead visited an Acer-accredited shop or third-party repair outlet, make sure they’re authorized to handle component-level diagnostics, as this isn’t typically resolvable through software resets alone.

Let us know how it goes, or if you need help locating your local Acer service branch.

Hi @Puraw , thanks for replying to the post.
This laptop is just 7 months old, I have had issues with the power adapter a few months back which got replaced under warranty, I guess I can still claim this issue under warranty as there's still 3 months to go before it expires.
I mostly use my laptop plugged in to a power supply ( and I have kept the healthy battery option ON, which prevents the charge to exceed 80% ), I rarely fully discharge the battery (i.e going down to 5%), and I have never let it hit 0%.
Anyways I will contact customer support for now as I couldn't find any solution to fix it.
