Ubuntu Live USB on Acer Aspire A315-23 Laptop doesn't detect internal SSD / HDD

I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my Acer laptop. I can successfully boot from the USB in UEFI mode (created with Rufus), but once I'm inside the Ubuntu live session (Try Ubuntu), the internal disk is not detected at all.

Here’s what I’ve done:

1. I created the USB using Rufus with GPT partition scheme and UEFI (non-CSM).

2. I disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS.

3. I booted Ubuntu successfully from the USB in UEFI mode.

4. Once inside Ubuntu live, GParted and the installer see only the USB drive, not the internal SSD / HDD.

Additional info:

The internal disk is correctly detected by Windows and BIOS.

The disk is GPT and has no BitLocker or encryption.

BIOS is set to AHCI mode, not RAID.

Laptop model: Acer Aspire A315-23

Problem summary:

Ubuntu Live boots fine, but the internal disk of the laptop is completely missing from lsblk, gparted, and the installer. Only the USB drive appears.

What I want to achieve:

I want to install Ubuntu, but I can't proceed because Ubuntu does not detect the internal disk.

Your Aspire A315-23 is AMD based, so we know it's not an issue with iRTS drivers like you would see in an Intel based machine. Is there a chance Ubuntu is only showing drives with free space for an install? If you haven't wiped Windows to have unallocated areas…
