Two year old monitor driving me mad - sitting next to an 8 year old monitor with no problems!! Have had this problem for months. Have tried many fixes. REstarting computer, updated graphics drivers, chaged HDMI leads and ports, tried with another computer. Same problems keeps occuring intermittently. Often had a bad day when it drives me mad then is OK again for a few days. Retailer tried to tell me its a software issue but it is occurring when I use a range of different software.

Any further suggestions?

    Hello,
It sounds like a hardware-level issue with the newer monitor, especially since it persists across different systems and cables. Intermittent flickering or blackouts can stem from: mygreatlakes

    • Panel aging or Vth drift, common in newer LCDs
    • Faulty internal components or unstable power delivery
    • DisplayPort/HDMI handshake issues, especially if using adapters

    Try this:

    • Test with a different power outlet or surge protector
    • Use a high-quality cable and avoid adapters
    • Disable deep sleep or power-saving features in the monitor’s settings
    • Check for firmware updates from the manufacturer

If the issue continues, consider a warranty claim or replacement—it’s likely not software-related.

    Best Regards,
