Hello so the A315-54-57VU has a B+M slot that's compatible with both NVMe and SATA

But there's a metal thing on the slot.

What is it and should i remove it to install an NVMe SSD?

    Hey @cakgo1530 ,

Nice spot—the A315-54-57VU does support both NVMe and SATA drives via its M.2 B+M keyed slot. That metal piece you see is a mounting bracket or standoff that helps secure the SSD once installed—don’t remove it unless it’s clearly blocking the socket.

    You’ll typically:

    • Slide the NVMe drive in at an angle (30°),
    • Rest the other end on the standoff,
    • Secure it with a screw (usually M2 x 3mm).

✅ Just make sure the SSD is PCIe 3.0 (not 4.0), since the A315 series typically supports Gen 3 speeds via Intel’s older chipset.

Let us know what model you’re installing if you want a quick compatibility double-check!
