Dear Acer Support Team,

I am reaching out regarding an issue with my Acer Aspire A315-24P laptop. After accessing the BIOS and modifying one of the internal settings (possibly related to integrated graphics memory), the system no longer boots. The screen remains completely black — no Acer logo, no POST, and no access to BIOS via F2 or DEL.

Here’s a summary of the issue:

  • Model: Acer Aspire A315-24P
  • Issue started after changing a BIOS setting
  • System powers on (fan spins briefly), but the screen remains black
  • No response to external monitor
  • Tried disconnecting the battery and CMOS (RTC) battery – no effect
  • Tried Crisis BIOS Recovery (holding Fn + Esc, then pressing Power) using a FAT32 USB with BIOS .fd file – still no reaction

I would like to kindly ask:

  1. Does the A315-24P model support Crisis BIOS Recovery?
  2. What is the correct BIOS file name and file format required for USB recovery (e.g., BIOS.fd, ZG0x.fd)?
  3. Is there an official recovery tool or key combination specific to this model?
  4. Is there a way to completely reset the BIOS to factory state manually?

If needed, I can provide the serial number (SNID) and any additional technical details or photos of the board.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I truly appreciate your support, as I would like to avoid using an SPI programmer if a recovery method still exists.

I'm no expert but I'd try, removing the battery, unplug from AC for a hour then retry if that doesn't reset then leave UNPLUGGED all night or more with the battery removed.

If that doesn't work then you need to reburn a chip or take to a computer repair shop.

    Good Luck..
