My Acer Nitro 5’s CPU fan is capped at around 4,700 RPM, even under heavy workloads like CineBench the speed remains same, which leads to thermal throttling and game performance drops

    What you Can Try

    • Open Quick Access or AcerSense (whichever is installed) → Switch to Performance Mode and reboot
    • Then re-check NitroSense → Toggle CoolBoost off and on again for good measure
    • Run Cinebench or a GPU stress test, monitor with HWiNFO → See if RPM now exceeds 4700 during thermal ramp-up

    How Fan Control Works (Simplified)

    Layer

    Effect on Fan Curve

    Overrides What?

    Windows Power Mode

    Base-level power & thermal behavior

    Can affect NitroSense indirectly

Acer Quick Access / AcerSense Mode

Direct override of cooling modes (Silent, Normal, Performance)

    Can ignore NitroSense CoolBoost

    NitroSense

Exposes manual fan control & CoolBoost

Only effective if no higher override

    EC Firmware Curve

    Low-level default behavior (BIOS-level)

    Always active unless overwritten

The speed after following the steps is still same i.e. 4700
