Hello
I just recently bought a brand new Laptop by Acer. Its an Nitro 14 - Ryzen7 / 32gb / 1TB / RTX 4060. All thou the uppgrade path is pretty limited with the Ram (its solder to the board), the other uppgrade I was thinking of is the M.2 SSD. I can't seem to find much info if there is possible to add another M.2 or I need to clone a from already installed towards to new one?
How much capacity storage is this Laptop capable of? Would like with some assistance.
Model:

NH.QQLED.003

Kind regards
Kristoffer

    Hi Kristoffer,

I believe your full model is AN14-41-R74Z, there is only one PCIe slot for a NVMe Gen4 x4 SSD so you need to clone the boot drive to the new SSD. Some good drives are Samsung 990 Evo Plus, WD Black SN850X, or Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus, all up to 4TB. I can recommend the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 4TB, it is a great match for your Nitro 14’s PCIe Gen 4 x4 slot. It supports PCIe 4.0 x4 and even Gen 5.0 x2 modes, offering excellent flexibility and forward compatibility.

    You’ll get:

    • Sequential read speeds up to 7,250 MB/s
    • Write speeds up to 6,300 MB/s
    • Intelligent TurboWrite 2.0 for large file handling
    • Nickel-coated controller for better thermal efficiency

It’s DRAM-less but uses Host Memory Buffer (HMB) to compensate, and it’s one of the most power-efficient Gen 4 drives out there—perfect for a compact chassis like the Nitro 14.

Could you please share the full model number (like AN515-58-XXXX) from the label on the bottom of your laptop or from Acer Care Center? It helps give you the most accurate and safe upgrade or support advice

You are welcome, yes you need an external USB drive, the easiest way is by making a full backup to an external USB backup drive (4TB) and swap the drives then restore the backup to the new SSD. I only use (free) W7 BU Image creator in Control Panel for that (see picture) but there are other good programs like Macrium Reflect.
