I have a Nitro 5 laptop Model AN515-58-75NM and when I press the power button nothing happens. I have tried holding the power button, with the power cord connected and with it disconnected. I have tried disconnecting the battery and nothing changed. Please help! I have had the laptop less than 6 months.

Hi, you can try this, Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black under the battery) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- terminals inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that remove the 2 RAM modules, if you have a spare RAM module install that or just replace the original RAM modules, reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.

If your Acer Nitro 5 AN515 is not turning on despite pressing the power button, it could be due to a power supply issue, a faulty power button, or other hardware problems. First, ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the laptop and the wall outlet. If that's not the problem, try a hard reset by unplugging the laptop, removing the battery (if possible), holding down the power button for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in and trying to power it on.

Here's a more detailed troubleshooting guide:
    1. Power Supply Issues:
Check the power cord and adapter: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the laptop and the AC adapter. Try a different wall outlet to rule out a faulty outlet.
Inspect the AC adapter: Look for any damage to the adapter or the connection to the laptop.
    2. Hard Reset:
Unplug the laptop: Disconnect the power cord and any other external devices.
Remove the battery (if possible): This will help drain any residual power.
Hold down the power button: Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Reconnect the battery and power cord: Reconnect the battery and the power cord.
Try powering on: Press the power button to see if the laptop turns on.
    3. Other Troubleshooting Steps:
    Check the power button:
The power button might be unresponsive. Try pressing it several times or try a hard reset (mentioned above).
    Reseat the RAM:
If the laptop is still not turning on, try reseating the RAM sticks.
    Check for humidity:
If the laptop has been exposed to humidity, try keeping it in a dry place for a day or two.
    Use Safe Mode (if applicable):
If the laptop does turn on but gets stuck in a boot loop, try booting into Safe Mode to troubleshoot.
    4. Contact Support:
If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware issue that requires professional repair. Contact Acer support or a qualified technician for further assistance.
