Yes ,you can use the computer without the battery, but the charger should always be plugged in.

But make sure you fix the laptop as soon as possible.

While sparking can be normal when connecting a battery due to a momentary surge of current, using a device without a battery can be dangerous. The device may not operate correctly, damage components, or lead to unexpected failures.

Here's why sparking and operating without a battery can be problematic:
    Sparking:
A small spark is often normal when connecting a battery, particularly if there's a load on the circuit. However, large sparks or continuous sparking can indicate a problem, such as a loose connection or a short circuit, and should be addressed.
    Operating without a battery:
Many devices rely on the battery to provide a stable power source and to keep certain components (like the car's computer) powered even when the engine is off. Without a battery, the device may not operate properly or could damage its components.
    Safety concerns:
Operating a device without a battery can put a strain on other components, like the alternator, potentially leading to premature failure or other damage.
What to do if you experience sparking:
Check connections: Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
Look for shorts: Make sure nothing is bridging the positive and negative terminals.
Consider a spark suppressor: A spark suppressor can help mitigate the initial surge of current.
Replace the battery: If the sparking is persistent or severe, it could be a sign of a faulty battery or other issue.
In conclusion, while a small spark upon connection can be normal, operating a device without a battery is not recommended due to the potential for damage and instability. If you experience significant sparking, address the issue promptly to ensure the safety and proper functioning of your device.
