Hi, I just wanted to ask why my computer gets to such extreme temperatures even when doing light work such as browsing. I haven't got any bloatware and my laptop is at a large angle in the air to allow for air intake. I have had to ask this question as this laptops keyboard and speaker become (regularly) too hot to touch, almost to the point of burning my hand or my finger. Many thanks for any awnsers or solutions to this problem, Joe

Overheating on the Acer Swift X SFX14-72G can be caused by various factors. To address the issue, start by cleaning the vents and fan to ensure proper airflow, and consider adjusting your power settings to reduce processing load. If overheating persists, you may need to reapply thermal paste or use a cooling pad.
    Troubleshooting Steps:-

Check Temperatures: Use software like HWinfo to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures.
Clean Vents and Fan: Use compressed air to remove dust buildup in the vents and fan.
Adjust Power Settings: Change power plans to prioritize battery life and reduce processor load.
Reapply Thermal Paste: If the laptop is older or has experienced significant heat, consider reapplying thermal paste between the CPU/GPU and the heatsink.
Use a Cooling Pad: A laptop cooling pad can provide additional airflow and help dissipate heat.
Consider Upgrading Components: In some cases, upgrading the RAM or adding a heat spreader to the memory modules might help with thermal performance, says a Reddit user.
    Additional Tips:
Elevate the laptop: Using a stand or even a stack of books can help improve airflow under the laptop.
Don't block vents: Ensure that the vents are not obstructed by anything, such as a blanket or pillow.
Regular cleaning: Make sure to clean the vents and fan regularly to prevent dust buildup.
Software Updates: Ensure that your operating system and drivers are up to date.
Uninstall unnecessary programs: Unnecessary software can put a strain on the system and contribute to overheating.
Consider a professional inspection: If the issue persists after trying these solutions, it might be necessary to have the laptop inspected by a professional.

Please send me a picture of your computer's task manager and also download and install HWMonitor and take a screenshot so I can see the CPU and GPU areas. Send me two screenshots in the same window as one photo.

The biggest reason why the problems are not solvedis if someone who says there is a problem with the GPU says; If I change the case, will the problem be solved? That's the whole point! The concepts are different! We should not go off topic.
