Hello. I recently created a theme about changing the current screen (TN) to a new one (IPS) to better display colors in graphic editors and so on.

Laptop: Acer Aspire 7 A715-76G-58KN
At the moment there is the following screen: N156HCA-EAB
There is an option to change to: N156HCA-EN1 / N156HCG-GR1 / N156HCG-GQ1

Will it get better (in terms of color coverage) and did I choose the right characteristics (I looked at pane look)? Could there be any problems with power consumption and so on?

[Edited the thread to add model name and issue detail to the title]

Where did you get the optional screens from? As the optional screen model N156HCA-EN1 is a 50 cd/m² (Typ.) brighter screen with a Brightness: 300 cd/m² (Typ.) and your oem screen N156HCA-EAB has a Brightness: 250 cd/m² (Typ.) which is the only difference, otherwise all the other specs are the same and are niot a gerat difference as quoted below between a TM screen and a IPS scree.

Note: theoretically the TN (Twisted Nematic) and IPS (In-Plane Switching) screens differ significantly in terms of color accuracy, viewing angles, response times, and typical applications.

    Key Differences

    1. Color Accuracy
    2. TN Panels: Generally have limited color accuracy and can struggle to reproduce vibrant colors. They are less suitable for tasks requiring precise color representation, such as graphic design or photo editing.

The optional screens will work as they are the same size and all the same 3.3V input power screens like the oem screens fitted to your Aspire715-56G laptop and have the same Video Connector: 30 pin, Width: 0.75" (19mm) like the oem screen, which is the most important thing as it can be connected. Just have a look at the specs on the Panelook.com for the different specs of these screens. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

StevenGen , what difference? See image… color coverage.

And read my question carefully. I need a richer picture in terms of colors, not brightness. However, the brightness will not be superfluous.
