AO532h Battery Showing Wrong Charge

My Aspire One is 3 yrs old. After completing one year, the stock 6-cell battery stopped being charged fully. It would stop at 70-80% and would charge no more. Over the last two years its situation has worsened. Now it hardly goes beyond 15-20%. However, the problem is, with 20% charge it shows 1 hr 15 mins remaining in Windows 7. But when I keep it running it goes well beyond 1 hr 15 mins, sometimes by another hour or so. The battery goes down to 4% and remains stuck there. Then suddenly it hybernates. I have also used Batterycare utlity to measure it and got the same result. Definitely, the system is not showing the correct charging status. I have the latest BIOS for this model. Could this be a problem with the battery or something else? Thanks.

Update: The battery goes upto 26% when fully charged. Then when I run it on battery, it quickly drops doen to 6% and estimates about 18 mins of power remaining. But the netbook continues for 2-2.5 hrs at this charge. Then again it quickly drops below 6% and goes to hibernation, which is set at 3%. I have tried several times to recalibrate it but nothing helped. Is this a bad battery?
