I have an Acer SF314-57 laptop. the latest Windows 11 update resulted in loss of laptop sound. The laptop does not 'see' the internal speaker. Can get sound through Apple ear pods. Need a new sound driver but have been unable to download from Acer site. Please help me restore sound on the laptop

Type "device manager" in the Windows search bar and press enter. Then on the screen that appears, in the "audio inputs and outputs" pane, it should be Intel. Select the speaker and click "details". In the "Property" pane, send us the information in the "hardware IDs" section from the drop-down box, I will send you the most suitable driver.

The biggest reason why the problems are not solvedis if someone who says there is a problem with the GPU says; If I change the case, will the problem be solved? That's the whole point! The concepts are different! We should not go off topic.

Use the Windows 10 drivers, there are three listed on the support site.

Hello and thank you for your suggestions. I found another solution provided to someone else experiencing a similar issue with their laptop sound system. This involved downloading Audio_Synamtics from a link they provided. This zipped file installed Synaptics driver which the laptop recognises and my sound system has been restored.

If the sound on your Acer SF314-57 laptop stopped working after a Windows 11 update, you can try several troubleshooting steps. First, check the audio settings and ensure the correct output device is selected. Next, run the audio troubleshooter and update or reinstall the audio drivers. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consider checking for conflicts with other devices and potentially rolling back the Windows update if necessary.
    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Check Audio Settings:
Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings."
Ensure the correct output device (speakers or headphones) is selected as the default device.
Adjust the volume levels and mute/unmute settings.
    2. Run the Audio Troubleshooter:
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
Select "Playing Audio" and click "Run the troubleshooter." Follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers:
Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start menu).
Expand "Sound, video and game controllers."
Right-click on your audio device and select "Update driver".
If updating doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and restarting your computer, then let Windows automatically install the driver or manually install the latest driver from the Acer support website.
    4. Check for Conflicts:
      Open Device Manager.
Examine the list of devices and see if any other devices have errors or conflicts.
Temporarily disable other devices to see if they are causing the issue.
    5. Roll Back Windows Update (if necessary):
If the problem started after a specific Windows update, you can try uninstalling that update.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates.
    6. System Restore (if necessary):
If none of the above steps work, you can try restoring your system to a previous point in time when the audio was working.
Search for "Create a restore point" in the Start menu and follow the instructions.
