Your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 supports a second M.2 NVMe SSD slot and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs. You can also connect an external HDD via USB. However, whether everything runs smoothly depends on factors like power consumption, BIOS compatibility, and available PCIe lanes.

Potential Benefits are if you install games or software on an NVMe SSD, they will load much faster than on a SATA SSD or HDD. You can dedicate different drives for different tasks—e.g., OS on one SSD, games on another, and media files on an HDD. Running multiple drives can help distribute workload, reducing bottlenecks.

Possible Drawbacks are more drives generate more heat, which could affect performance. Multiple drives may increase power draw, potentially impacting battery life. Your second NVMe slot runs at Gen 3 speeds, so a Gen 4 SSD in that slot won’t perform at full potential. Some users have reported performance drops when using multiple drives, especially under heavy loads like gaming and downloading simultaneously.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
