Adjustment of touchpad pinch to zoom sensitivity in Using Acer Aspire 5 (A317-54)

The sensitivity of the touchpad's pinch to zoom gesture is significantly too high, making the function near unusable in certain software. While more "mainstream" software, like most internet browsers work fine, anything older or more obscure does not function correctly. The zoom/scroll function takes me from the maximum to minimum possible zoom with a motion comparable to moving the cursor a couple of pixels.

I have already reduced scrolling sensitivity to the minimum possible value in Windows settings, which did not resolve my problem, it seems like the issue lies with the device's drivers or a setting which I was unable to find on my own.

Hi, you can only set the touchpad sensitivity in "Taps" that will apply to all gestures, try "Low sensitivity" (see picture):

To adjust pinch-to-zoom sensitivity on an Acer Aspire 5, you can access the touchpad settings in Windows 10 or 11. In Windows 10, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and adjust the sensitivity in the dropdown menu. In Windows 11, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad and adjust the sensitivity under the "Taps" menu. You can also try updating the touchpad driver or the display driver, or even uninstalling and reinstalling the driver to see if that helps.

    Detailed Steps:-
    Windows 10:
Open Settings: Click the Start menu and select Settings.
    Go to Devices: Select "Devices".
Select Touchpad: Choose "Touchpad" from the left-hand menu.
Adjust Sensitivity: Find the "Touchpad sensitivity" option and adjust it using the dropdown menu.
Save Changes: Close the settings window to save your changes.
    Windows 11:
Open Settings: Click the Start menu and select Settings.
Go to Bluetooth & devices: Select "Bluetooth & devices".
Select Touchpad: Choose "Touchpad" from the left-hand menu.
Adjust Sensitivity: Click on "Taps" and adjust the sensitivity setting.
Save Changes: Close the settings window to save your changes.
    Troubleshooting:
    Update Drivers:
If the sensitivity is still not behaving as expected, try updating the touchpad driver and the display driver.
    Uninstall and Reinstall Driver:
You can also try uninstalling and then reinstalling the touchpad driver.
    Hardware Troubleshooter:
Run the hardware troubleshooter to see if it can identify and fix any issues with the touchpad.
    Check for Updates:
Ensure your Windows operating system and chipset, BIOS/UEFI firmware, and other drivers are up-to-date.
