Spin 513 (CP513-1H Series) battery not charging or stuck while charging, looking for solutions

The model N20Q4 has provided reliable service…until now. It seems the battery will not charge despite having it plugged in over night. Refer to the photo representing the battery life is being calculated…but it never shows it completed. Add to the frustration, there's not a battery test found at the diagnostic app.

I'd like some practical advice on how to correct this problem and regain the use of the battery.

Thank you in advance.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help:

Check the Power Connection – Ensure the charger is securely plugged into both the Chromebook and a working power outlet. Look for any visible damage or frayed wires. If damaged, try another compatible charger. Sometimes, the issue is with the outlet itself. Plug your charger into a different outlet to rule this out.

Perform a Hard Reset – Disconnect the charger, press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds, then reconnect the charger and check if it starts charging.

Check Battery Health – You can check battery health using the CROSH command: battery_test 300 in the Chrome OS terminal.

Thank you Sharanji, really appreciate your suggestions.

I've seen these elsewhere and have already taken the recommended actions without any different results. Before posting my question for help, there were several ideas suggested and nothing has worked.

I've not removed the back to remove the battery and prefer not to, either.

    Any other advice?

You can try to disconnect. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds and reconnect the battery. Remove twelve screws from the base cover. Carefully pry up the base cover starting from the top side to release the latches. Continue releasing the remaining latches and then remove the base cover. Detach the acetate tape securing the battery cable to the mainboard connector. Disconnect the battery cable from the mainboard connector.

    Thank you again, Sharanji.

I'm reluctant to remove the battery. Perhaps someone else can provide an alternative.

    Thanks again.
