A315-51, E5-576G or F5-573G. Is there was an additional bay to install a "second" storage drive?

I thought that there was an addtional bay to install a "second" storage drive. When I opened the laptop I realize there is space for a second 2.5" drive but only one bay to install the 1TB PCLe 3.0 NVMe M.2 SSD which is where the 128G that came with laptop is installed.

So, I removed the 128G card and installed the 1TB. Now when I reboot the laptop I see a message "No Bootable Device, What should I do? Also how do I transfer the info from the 128G to the new 1TB drive?

I would appreciate any help,

Thanks

Hi, the storage configurations and limits for the Acer Aspire A315-51, E5-576G, and F5-573G models are not identical. Here's a general overview:
Acer Aspire A315-51: This model supports SATA SSDs and mechanical HDDs. It has one slot for a 2.5-inch SATA drive and does not support NVMe SSDs.
Acer Aspire E5-576G: This model supports both M.2 NVMe SSDs and 2.5-inch SATA drives. It can accommodate higher storage capacities, such as 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSDs.
Acer Aspire F5-573G: Similar to the E5-576G, this model supports M.2 NVMe SSDs and 2.5-inch SATA drives. It is compatible with high-capacity NVMe SSDs.

Tell us what model you have. To transfer the complete 128GB boot drive to a new SSD, the easiest and most reliable method is with Windows7 Backup-Image creator (in Control Panel) and an external USB backup drive like the Seagate Backup Plus ($80); back up the complete drive, replace the SSDs, boot with the Windows Recovery USB disk (that will be made after you complete the backup with W7 BU) and restore the backup to the new 1TB SSD. Cloning is another method.

Which exact model laptop do you have, or have you got all of these laptop models, be more specific? As all these laptops use the SATA 6GB/s M.2 SSD drives that have a B&M Key highlighted type M.2 SSD drive like shown below:

    image.png

The reason why you are getting the "No Bootable Device" is because replacing the existing 128GB boot drive with a new 1TB M.2 SSD that is not initialized and formatted with a drive letter, the new drive will not be recognized in windows OS and shown in File Explorer. You can't just put a new either M.2 SSD or a 2.5" SATA III type drive into the laptop and expect it to be recognized by windows, you need to do all the above.

With your 128GB old boot M.2 SSD drive when you upgrade it a new 1TB M.2 SSD in these laptops that only have 1x M.2 SSD slot, you need to clone the old 128GB boot drive with a software like Macrium Reflect and buy an external M.2 USB B&M Key 3.0 cable case and put the new 1TB M.2 SSD into the case and use Macrium Reflect to clone the drive onto the new 1TB M.2 SSD drive and your old OS will be exactly like it was on the old boot drive on the new 1TB M.2 SSD. Be patient as this could take a while cloning with the external M.2 SSD case. Good luck and hope this helps you out to solve the problem.

Hi, your laptop supports a PCIe Gen.3x4 M.2 SSD drive up to 1TB like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus or identical Gen3 SSDs.
