acer aspire a515-55 running prohibitively slow. Using ethernet cable connection, not wifi

Hi, just bought this thing in the last couple months. I tried the solutions suggested from similar posts, but nothing is working. My speed test seems fine.

I can't even work, even though I'm doing very low- impact activities (i.e., going to websites, opening word documents).

The slowness/lag occurs everywhere (e.g., opening web pages, flipping from web browser to Word document). Video chats are an impossibility.

Even calling into Teams on my phone, and only joining the chat section it is completely non-functional. It cannot load the chat to see others' comments, and the lag makes it impossible to type a full sentence.

I am at a complete loss. PLEASE HELP ME!

Try the above steps jack22 mentioned and It could be a problem with the Ethernet cable itself, the router's Ethernet ports, or even the network settings on your computer.

Make sure the Ethernet cable is properly connected to both your computer and the router's Ethernet port. Try a different cable to rule out a faulty one. Inspect the router's Ethernet ports, try plugging the cable into a different port on the router.
Use Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to see which applications are running in the background and consuming resources. Close any unnecessary programs. Check your system startup programs in Task Manager to see if any are automatically loading and potentially slowing things down.

Refresh Network. Open CMD as an administrator mode, run the following commands in the listed order and then check to see if that fixes your connection problem:
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

if the issue persists, try to temporarily uninstall any third-party firewall / antivirus and then try again. It also uninstalls any vpn software, network optimization software like SmartByte, Killer Network Manager etc or other optimization software.

Check the below things to make your computer faster:

Too Many Background Processes: Close unnecessary programs and browser tabs to free up resources.

Startup Programs: Limit the number of programs that automatically start when your laptop boots up.

Software and Drivers:
