What is the full model number of you laptop?

Most of the Acer laptops use a function key combination usually Fn + F7 or Fn + F6 to toggle the touchscreen on and off. Try pressing these key combinations to see if it reactivates the touchscreen. If that doesn't work, try pressing F7 or F6 alone without the Fn key.

@Sharanji thank you for your suggestion. However those steps didn't work. I have an Aspire 3 15 Acer laptop

A simple restart can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Try a power reset. To reset your Acer laptop using the battery reset pinhole, first ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged from the AC adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of your laptop, usually marked with a battery icon. Using a small paperclip or a similar object, press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for about 5 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop.

If this model does not have a battery reset pinhole, then press the Power button for 9 seconds to reset the battery

    Update Driver
Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
Locate and expand Human Interface Devices
Right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Update driver
    Select Search automatically for drivers
Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.

If the problem persists, contacting Acer support for further assistance is recommended. Acer Support & Services
