For the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43, you'll generally need 1.0mm thermal pads.

As per your screenshot for this model, the VRAM and VRM 1.0mm thermal pads are the standard thickness for these components. For Smaller ICs you might also need 0.5mm pads for some smaller ICs with smaller gaps. Use thermal paste for the CPU and GPU, not for VRAM because it can't fill the large gaps.
Once you have the pads, start with 1mm pads everywhere, and then adjust based on the temperatures you're getting during stress tests. Run a stress test with HWINFO in sensors mode to monitor temperatures and wattage. Use HWINFO to monitor individual core temperatures and check for differences, which can indicate the need for 0.5mm pads on the CPU side VRM.
If you're replacing thermal pads, you'll want to use 1.0mm thick pads.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
