Why did I buy an acer monitor?!

The audio does not work, Windows Troubleshooter cannot help in updating the driver.

There is no driver available to download for this model on the Acer website.

I have tried to contact 'Live Chat'….impossible! I have tried to email for assistance…impossible!

Can anyone help? PLEASE!

Based off of the listing, the full model would be KB242YG0bi. I checked with one of our moderators this model does not come with internal speakers. You need to get another model that has internal speakers.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Reinstall your GPU driver using ddu uninstaller and make sure monitor is connected to your laptop/pc during whole process.

What is the full model number of your Acer monitor? For example CB227XXXXXXXXXXXX

It will help us check if your monitor really has an internal speaker?

Most modern monitors are designed to work with your computer without needing specific drivers beyond the operating system's built-in "plug and play" drivers.

    Examine the Audio Ports:
If the monitor has an audio-in port (often a 3.5mm jack), it likely has built-in speakers.
If the monitor only has an audio-out port, it's designed to output audio to external speakers, not to have speakers of its own
Inspect the front or sides of the monitor for any mesh-covered circular or oval openings, which could indicate the presence of speakers.

To play audio through a monitor with built-in speakers, ensure your computer's audio output is set to the monitor's speakers, typically via HDMI or DisplayPort, and adjust the volume through the monitor's or Windows' settings.
    Check the Windows Sound Settings:
If you're using Windows and have connected your monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort, you can check the sound settings to see if the monitor is listed as a playback device.
Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Playback devices," and see if your monitor is listed.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

The monitor is the KB242Y G0 and was bought specifically because I wanted a monitor with built-in speakers and in the specification details on the retailer's website (Currys) it clearly states that this model has 2 speakers

I have used the Windows Troubleshooter to try and investigate /resolve the problem. It says: There is a problem with the driver from your audio device. Outdated drivers most of the time prohibit the driver to work.

'Updating audio device driver' gets the response: We are sorry, we couldn't solve your problem.

And , yes, the monitor is listed as the default playback device

I have spent HOURS trying to get in touch with ACER…on-line chat, sending an e-mail..in both cases I enter the serial number and wait, and wait, and wait for anything to happen…and NOTHING does! I seriously think that there is no such thing as a support individual, let alone a team!

    Thank you

I shall be returning this monitor and requesting a full refund as this is obviously a case of misrepresentation of goods.
