Aspire7 A715-79G-Slow Read Speed-Phison ESO512GHLCA1-E9C SSD- laptop is noticeably slower than befor

I purchased Acer Aspire 7 Laptop in January 2025, initially it was running smooth. Suddenly past few days i noticed the laptop is noticeably slower than before. boot time, app opening etc. When I checked the speed the of SSD the sequential 64.0 read (2238.10MB/s) speed is lower than sequential 64.0 write (4287.11MB/s) speed, the random 16.0 read(482.86MB/s) speed as well.

when I checked with my other laptop aspire 3 A324-51 the sequential 64.0 read (4815.56MB/s) speed and sequential 64.0 write (3735.51MB/s) speed, the random 16.0 read(1242.56MB/s). The read speed is double, and the performance is smooth.

My question is my SSD faulty? should i contact acer for warranty/replacement. or is this any firmware issue. i don't know how to check the current firmware version and update

While 2238.10 MB/s sequential read speed for a 512GB SSD is still fast, it's significantly lower than the 4815.56 MB/s of the other laptop, suggesting a potential issue or difference in SSD type or interface.

The other laptop might have a faster NVMe SSD, while yours could be a SATA SSD, which has lower maximum speeds. Even within SSDs, M.2 NVMe SSDs typically offer much higher speeds than SATA SSDs. The SSD controller chip itself can impact performance. Some controllers are simply faster than others.

You can consider these troubleshooting steps: check for background programs, ensure sufficient storage space, scan for malware, update drivers, and consider a clean boot
Use Task Manager: Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, go to the "Startup" tab, and disable programs you don't need to run at startup.
Use System Configuration (MSConfig): Search for "msconfig" in the Windows search bar, go to the "Startup" tab, and disable programs you don't need.

Free Up Disk Space: A full hard drive or SSD can significantly slow down your laptop's performance.
Delete Unnecessary Files: Remove temporary files, old downloads, and unused programs.
Move Large Files: Consider moving large files to an external drive or cloud storage.
Check for Disk Errors: Run a disk check to identify and fix any errors on your hard drive or SSD.

Check if you have any pending updates for windows. To check for Windows updates, go to Settings, then Update & Security, and finally Windows Update, and click "Check for updates".
