Hi, I recently bought the Acer Swift from Costco SF14-61T Ryzen 9 365 and Radeon 880m.

The computer is intermittently very laggy every 5 minutes or so where video, scrolling and typing is laggy. Any suggestions?

I have updated to the latest builds on Microsoft. Updated the latest AMD drivers for the CPU and GPU. Deleted McAfee. There is no high utilization of CPU, GPU, drive, ram etc. nothing is spiking in task manager. Heat from GPU and CPU is 40 degrees Celsius or below.

So, what the heck is going on? I really want to make this thing work!

OK I FIGURED IT OUT. After a week of troubleshooting, I discovered the issue: it was the AMD Adrenaline software!!!! For some reason, it caused intermittent lag and choppiness with video, scrolling, typing, etc. Restarting the computer temporarily resolved the issue for about 5-10 minutes, but it always came back. After uninstalling the software via the device manager, the problem HAS BEEN COMPLETELY ERADICATED!

This issue was insidious (sneaky) as it made me second-guess myself whether the lag was normal or not. I was super close in returning this laptop to Costco and giving up and switching to an Intel or intel/Nvidia model. It makes me NERVOUS that AMD makes software that makes AMD laptops buggier! Although I haven’t seen any other complaints about the Ryzen 9 AI 360 - Radeon 880M combination, and the AMD Adrenaline software—- People have definitely complained about other AMD model computers where the AMD Adrenaline software made their systems laggy. So in summary— The AMD adrenaline software DEFINETLY causes issues with this chipset/ laptop!!!!!! (The Acer swift SF14-61T with Ryzen 9 AI 360 and Radeon 880m). My recommendation for anyone using this configuration is to uninstall the software to avoid these problems of insidious lagginess and choppiness.

    Have a nice day =)
