Hello,

first time poster, have the PO3-640 board in the predator orion, i bought RAM on amazon, didn't work, it was some

Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3200MHz Kit - PVS432G320C6K

then i tried Crucial Pro RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MT/s (or 3000MT/s or 2666MT/s) Desktop Memory CP2K16G4DFRA32A:

also didn't work. sorry, I mean, they worked, but they wouldn't in the ram slots without the original RAM being installed along with them. i had them installed as 16GB 8GB 16GB 8GB from left to right. but i felt that would be unsafe for the RAM since they couldn't run alone without the native RAM.

My question is, where can i buy some RAM for this picky mobo so i can upgrade to 32GB or 64GB? is it worth it really? i'm a gamer, but i don't play many super high end games cos they been real suck lately. i want a system that can play GTA VI 0day(zero day) on high settings, ya knows? i also been learning modeling and rendering in blender, so it would be nice to speed that up, 4:29 hours/mins for 200 frames in a 6 second, 1 mb webm video is crazy long for rendering.

here is my setup:

Thank you in advance

PS - should i do any of the driver updates or any of these BIOS ones?

The Predator Orion 3000 model PO3-640 desktop with its i7-12700 or i7-1200F cpu's was designed by Acer with its Intel B660 chipset mobo to only work with DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram, this desktop is very sensitive to what type of XMP ram it uses when bios > Advanced > Extreme Memory Profile ( X.M.P.) This item enables or disables Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) is turned on. Also, make sure that the last bios version R01-B1 is installed also for best ram performance especially XMP compatibility..

Use the Crucial recommended ram from this guide at Crucial Acer Predator PO3-640 RAM & SSD Upgrades and all the ram that is recommended there. The PO3-640 can be upgrade to either 32GB or 64GB or even 128GB max total capacity ram if you want, like Crucial also suggest that the Predator PO3-640 can work with @ 4x 32GB DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram. Good luck and hope this helps you out

    Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4-3200 UDIMM

    • CT2K16G4DFRA32A
    • Configuration ID: CT21772017

    DDR4-3200 • CL=22 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.2V • 2Rx8/1Rx8 • PC4-25600

    Crucial 64GB Kit (32GBx2) DDR4-3200 UDIMM

    • CT2K32G4DFD832A
    • Configuration ID: CT21772398

    DDR4-3200 • CL=22 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 288-pin • 1.2V • 2Rx8 • PC4-25600

This the Acer suggested and correct Memory UDIMM slots placements for the ram modules for 32GB and 64GB ram capacities for this desktop

Use the below 16GB ram modules that Acer tested the PO3-640 desktop with for all the different memory capacities as it will work 100%.

so this RAM i got is not good/compatible? it is different than the one you posted?

also is this the proper way to install the RAM then since the clips are at the top of the tower?

Follow the Crucial guide above that I've given you a link to for the PO3-640 desktop max and appropriate ram modules and only use the exact ram types that are listed by Crucial for the Normal (green ram) or the Pro (black ram) DDR4-3200MT/s CL22 type ram modules. With the ram installment, put the module into the UDIMM slot while the side clips are open and push down until ***** side clips lock the UDIMM ram into the slot, its a very simple installation process.

so the photo of the RAM i posted isn't the right kind because it's XMP 2.0 correct?
and the reason i ask about the RAM slots is because when i got the PC,

the RAM was technically in Slot 4 and 2

    []=RAM |=empty
    []|[]| (from left to right)

when i get my new sticks i want them to be:
    |[]|[] (16GB/32GB=32GB/64GB)or [][][][] (8GB/16GB=32GB/64GB)?

i'd like to add that i extracted the BIOS zip into my download folder and ran the .exe with admin and when my computer restarts it's just this long never ending PC beep code that only stops when i turn off the power and reboot, the update doesn't happen and i've even tried it with a flash drive formatted to NTFS and Fat 32.
    what me doin wrong?

    thx thx

The image you posted states it supports "Intel Core 8th - 11th gen CPUs". You have a 12th gen…
