Can’t make GeForce GT 1030 (low profile) fit/work into Acer Veriton X2631G

Hi there! First time posting here :)

I just bought an used Acer Veriton X2631G just for my 11 year old daughter to play some games like Minecraft and Roblox. I tried to install an old GeForce GT 1030 card (low profile) that I have but it won’t fit because of the black cable head that (I believe) connects the frontal USB3 ports to the motherboard (the blue circled cable on the picture).

Pushing the 1030 card and the cable head to opposite directions I managed to insert it almost to the end. I mean, the little “lock” mechanism didn’t “click”.

I then plugged my monitor using the card’s DVI connection but the display remained dark and I heard some beeping.

As it didn’t work and I don’t feel comfortable having the 1030 card almost “twisted” to make it fit, I removed it from the board.

But was anyone able to use the 1030 with this computer? If not, could someone please suggest a decent but budget friendly graphics card?

By the way, I think it’s worth noting that the previous owner managed to install Windows 11 Pro on this computer (which I know is not officially supported). Would that cause any issues with the GeForce 1030?

Thanks for reading and for any help you guys can provide :)

I don't see any reason that the card won't fir if it's the correct card ?

If the lock mechanism tab is hitting a little bit then shave it off a little bit with a file or emory board ?

Please take a picture of an attempted plug in ?

Yes, unfortunately there isn't any room for a card that's wider than just the one slot. Acer doesn't specify any cards that they would have used in these models and with the 220W PSU it's not a big surprise. It's possible there are other vendor designs of the 1030 low profile that are thinner, and other GPUs that also are thinner and still low profile.
