Since yesterday, Ive noticed that my Aspire F15 (released in 2015) has been going through a heavy lag. It started to lag from boot up at log in to desktop. After a bit, the taskbar icons respond but at a slow rate. The culprit? This message right here.

This pop up message appears repeatedly after 10 min through the lag. It's basically the driver to my Wacom drawing tablet that is slowing my PC down. I haven't used the tablet for a long time and its a bit weird that the drivers start acting up. What can I do to permanently uninstall the driver. I could go to device manager to get the driver uninstalled but it would take me ages to reach that section. 😭😵

Any help is highly appreciated! :)

Hi, there is a 2017 BIOS version still available on Acer Support: 2017/09/21 1.18 install that version if you haven't yet done so. If you are still using a mechanical HDD I recommend getting a M.2 SSD as your boot drive such as the Samsung 860 EVO that uses the SATA III interface, which is fully compatible with your laptop's M.2 slot and/or replace the mechanical SSD for a 2.5" Sata-3 SSD like the Samsung 870 Evo V-NAND up to 2TB. The Acer Aspire F15 F5-572G supports up to 16GB of DDR3L RAM (low-voltage DDR3, 1600MHz). It has two RAM slots, so you can install 2 x 8GB modules for the maximum capacity. If you're currently running on less RAM, upgrading to 16GB can significantly improve multitasking and overall performance.

I refuse to upgrade my BIOS, it may damage my computer.

I could invest for a better SSD and RAM but I don't want my wallet to be shot.

My laptop was fine for 9 years until this happened. Overall I think its a software issue and it can be solved through an uninstallation of the Wacom driver. But I may be wrong.

Try to boot your computer using cleanboot.
Open the run box by pressing the Windows Key + R and type msconfig
System Configuration Utility box will open and by default you are on general tab.
On the General tab, click the selective startup and make sure that load system service and load startup items both have checked mark.
    Click on services tab
Put a check mark on Hide All Microsoft Services
Once Hide all Microsoft Services have checked mark on it, click on Disable All
Click on the Startup Tab and click open task manager. This will open another window which contains all your startup applications on the administrator account.
Disable all application that you're not using. You can simply just click on them and select disable.
Click OK, Apply and close the configuration utility
Restart your device and check the performance.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊
