When the laptop is running with plugged power supply, it suddenly switches to battery power, and the power indicator quickly blinks red. If you pull the power out of the laptop and insert it again, it shows mains power... At any moment, the mains power can be disconnected again, and the power indicator will start blinking red, while it will work from the battery.

What is the full model number of your laptop?

When a laptop suddenly switches to battery power despite being plugged in, with a quickly blinking red power indicator, it likely indicates a problem with the battery, charger, or a power management issue. The charger might not be delivering power correctly or at all. Ensure the charger is firmly plugged into both the laptop and the wall outlet. Check for any physical damage to the charger cord or adapter. If the laptop is overheating, the battery sensor might misfire, causing the laptop to switch to battery power.

To reset your Acer laptop using the battery reset pinhole, first ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged from the AC adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of your laptop, usually marked with a battery icon. Using a small paperclip or a similar object, press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for about 5 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop. This process temporarily disconnects and reconnects the internal battery, which can help resolve power and battery-related issues.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Thank you. I have an Aspire 515-51. Yes, I did all of this. And now, I disconnected the battery inside and turned it on without it. In this case, the laptop turns itself off suddenly. That is, the same effect as with the battery, but it does not switch to the battery, because it is disconnected, but simply turns off suddenly. So it's not a battery issue.
