Do I have to be worried about my New Helios Neo 16 PHN16-71? Takes forever to boot like 45 seconds.

Hello! I just bought a new Predator PHN16-71 in Hiraoka Perú. And some situations just happened.

I bought a new laptop, an Acer Helios Neo 16, and it has felt weird since the first day I got it. I don't know if I’m just being paranoid or if something’s actually wrong.

When I turned it on for the first time, it took forever to boot (Like 30 or 45 seconds, and I was anxious so it could be less). I got impatient and forced it to shut down twice before it finally finished starting up. Could that have caused any damage?

Then, while I was installing several programs at once — one of them being Bluestacks — I got an error and a blue screen. It said: Kernel APC pending during exit. I read online that it might be caused by Bluestacks itself, but I’m not sure. Just found this KERNEL_APC_PENDING_DURING_EXIT Bluescreen during Bluestacks installation. : r/BlueStacks so maybe it's just happened once.

After that, it’s been working perfectly in games: good temperatures, great performance, everything running smoothly.

What just happened now is that I left it on sleep mode for about four hours, and when I came back, it gave me a sign-in error where I couldn’t recover my PIN and had to reset it.

    1. Slow Boot Time and Forced Shutdowns:

A boot time of 30 to 45 seconds is longer than usual for a new laptop. Forcing a shutdown twice should not have caused any damage. When I got my Nitro 5 seven years ago, I remember it didn’t even boot initially, and I had to force a shutdown and plug it in to see the screen. However, after that, these issues never happened again.

    2. Blue Screen Error (Kernel APC Pending During Exit):

The blue screen error you encountered during the installation of Bluestacks could be related to that specific software, as other users have reported similar issues with it. It software related issue and so don't worry.

    3. Sleep Mode Sign-in Error:

The sign-in error after waking from sleep mode is not uncommon and can happen for various reasons, including software glitches or settings misconfigurations. If this issue persists, consider checking for Windows updates or driver updates that might resolve it. I never use sleep mode so I don't know if there's any issue with this windows version but I know users have faced similar issue in past like I shown in below link:

In conclusion, I would say that it's positive your laptop performs well during gaming, with good temperatures and smooth operation. This suggests that the hardware is functioning correctly under load, which is a good sign despite the initial issues you experienced. Windows can be buggy as well. Continue using your laptop normally and report back if you encounter any other issues.

There is nothing wrong with your PHN16-71 laptop and what you have done will not cause any damage to the Win-11 OS (btw, I'm using the exact same laptop and its this laptop is a very speedy and never had any problems).

I suggest that you first make sure that you have installed the last 1.18 bios version and also have Win-11 version 24H2 and the last OS build: 26100.3476 instilled. Then and for the NVidia graphics, install the NVidia GeForce Experience software that is a specialist NVidia driver scanning tool that downloads the latest game ready drivers for your laptop and also assists with game settings for best settings for your laptop, so install the GeForce Experience software too, as doing all this to your PHN16-71 laptop will ensure that this laptop performs to its peak performance.

Btw, with my PHN16-71-50JG i5-13500HX cpu/RTX4050 gpu, I've upgraded the ram to 64GB total @ 2x 32GB DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 and also upgraded the boot M.2 SSD drive to a 1TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe + Heatsink and this combination makes this laptop absolutely and unbelievably quick and responsive.

Forgot to mentioned that New laptops often take longer to boot during the initial setup as they may be configuring system settings, installing updates, or running background processes for the first time. In you case, windows was just setting up initial setups.
