Driver issues on Helios neo 16 PHN16-71 2023

Hi everyone, i need help with this laptop.

I can not seem to play any game though i have played on it before. I was out of town and i could not play games on it, after 3 months when i tried to play RDR online it crashed saying GFX state error something. GTA was working fine though.

I have tried all the things that could solve those issue found on youtube, chat gpt and rockstar games, Then i thought i should reinstall windows. After reinstalling, my wifi is not working. Driver is there but it does not just. Screen keeps going black and come back( looks like something keep crashing with a sound cue). Nvidia GPU driver acting weird like i can not dim my display. I can't play any games.

Before it was just predator sense that was not working. now it’s working but others not so much. How can i make this laptop works okay without any headache? Any expert that can help me out please reply.

I am new here in the community. So i Don't know how to put all this together, so just asking as a question

As you see here, it just has a caution sign on it. Btw it worked an hour before on windows 10. But on windows 10 my trackpad was not working so i reinstalled windows 11. Now wifi gone and no game can be launched. Everything crashes.

I've got the exact same laptop PHN16-71-50JG which its Wi-Fi and BT are exactly the same and on my laptop its working perfectly, also I've got no problems in any gaming as it all works perfectly with nothing like you are experiencing.

For the Wi-Fi and BT, I suggest that you first completely uninstall the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth driver of the laptop from Device Manager and Control Panel for the Bluetooth.

Afterwards, install Intel-Driver-and-Support-Assistant-Installer and do a scan for all the the Wi-Fi and BT latest drivers and use that to update to the latest versions which are s follows:

For the Killer AX1650i Wi-Fi driver version 23.120.0.3 dated: 6th Feb 2025
For the Bluetooth its version 23.120.04 dated: 10th February 2025,

With the gaming and the NVidia gpu issues, set your PHN16-71 bios to work on the NVIDIA GPU only and the same in Predator Sense, install the GeForce Experience NVidia software and update to the last NVidia game ready driver appropriate for your PHN-16-71-xxxx model RTX40xx GPU, so that the Intel graphics doesn't interfere with the graphics of the laptop which is a better setting than having both active and you are playing games, as the Intel graphics are just bottlenecking the functionality of this laptops graphics imo.

That is the settings that I’ve got set on my PHN16-17 and I’ve had no problems in gaming what so ever, also make sure that you are running the last bios version 1.18 as doing all this will make your laptop function properly especially after a proper clean install of Win-11 24H2 version with all updates to it last OS build: 26100.3476. Otherwise and if all this doesn’t help or fixes your gaming issues especially or the Wi-Fi, then you have hardware issues in your laptop, so get your laptop checked out buy a technician.

Try this, turn off the laptop, unplug the charger, and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Still same, it had no update. Only bluetooth got updated to latest version. Wifi was already updated

If it didn't work after doing the above, the cards is faulty and needs replacing, as its impossible that after updating the Wi-Fi drive to version 23.120.0.3 that the WLAN doesn't work, as my Killer AX1650i card works under that same driver perfectly so does the BT. If the laptop is still under Acer warranty send it to Acer Tech Support in your country, if its not, then either get a technician to change the Killer AX1650i card for a new card (as the antenna wires MAIN/AUX are tricky to clip onto the new card and you could damage them) or you do it yourself. The PHN16-71 and all Acer laptops default Acer warranty is 12 months, but you can buy acer extended warranty of up to 3 years or buy other laptop extended warranty insurance also from other companies, do your research .
