That is a problem with the EC chip that could be shorting out when the adapter is plugged in and can't regulate the power. Take the laptop to a technician so that they can analyze your laptop as no resetting will fix that sort of a problem. Good luck.

This is a common problem with especially new Nitro laptops and the only fix for this is a Hard Reset that needs the laptops back cover to be opened and the main battery removed and the RTC/BIOS battery needs to be disconnected and its + & - pins at the mainboard plug need to be shorted out to reset the CMOS, as that will fix this problem and you shouldn't have this happen again, as what happens is that the EC and Chipset chips freeze or get stuck and the laptop stops and can't be rebooted as the power key is governed by these chips and its dead and does not function, so resetting will fix this issue. In very rare and or in extreme cases the main power rail shorts out and needs repairing by a technician so if the reset doesn't fix this issue you will need to take your laptop to a technician. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Note: If your Acer Nitro V 15 is new and still under Acer warranty then book a service call and send/take your laptop to Acer Tech Support and get the Acer technicians to fix this problem under Acer warranty.
