In Windows it says the battery is at 61%. It is plugged in and the orange LED on the side is solid and it says it is charging. When I unplug the charger cable, it immediately turns off.

I reset the batter from the pinhole on the bottom.

I ran a powercfg /batteryreport /output info.html and the report looks normal.
Design capacity = 65,002 mWh
Full charge capacity = 65,305 mWh

Any more suggestions?

    Lets try a power reset.

To reset your Acer laptop using the battery reset pinhole, first ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged from the AC adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of your laptop, usually marked with a battery icon. Using a small paperclip or a similar object, press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for about 5 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop. This process temporarily disconnects and reconnects the internal battery, which can help resolve power and battery-related issues.

If that does not help, Try a Different Power Outlet, Plug the laptop into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.

The charging port or the power adapter itself might be faulty, preventing proper charging or power delivery. Sometimes, software glitches can interfere with the battery's charging or power management.

Update or Reinstall Battery Driver: Go to Device Manager (search for it in the Windows Start Menu) and find the battery device. Right-click on the battery device and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device", then restart your computer to reinstall it.

Power Management Settings : Go to Control Panel > Power Options and make sure your power plan is set to "Balanced" or "High Performance". Also, check the "Power Saver" settings to see if any settings are causing the laptop to shut down prematurely.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

    Thx for helping.

I already did the battery reset pinhole.

    Have tried multiple outlets.

Power management all looks normal. It only shuts down when you unplug the charging cable.

I'll try the battery driver next.

    Updated battery charger, same problem.

Left laptop plugged in overnight and it charged to 100%. LED is solid blue. Same problem.

I suppose the next step is to either swap in a new battery (although the existing one seems to charge appropriately) or arrange for repairs.

Did you do the full battery reset, or did you just press the button under the pin hole? The full reset clears the internal data in the battery, the press only just disconnects and reconnects the battery. To do the full reset, shut down and disconnect power. Press and hold the reset for 15 seconds or so, then release and wait for 15 minutes or longer. Plug only the charger back in and wait again, for the full battery indication. Go ahead at that point and turn it on and retest to see if the issue is still there.

    Thanks…

I disconnected power then held the pinhole reset for 20 seconds. I did not wait long before plugging back in and booting it. I'll give that another try, and wait longer per your suggestion.

Still no luck after another reset with longer wait time.
