after windows 2024 H2 update. Battery shows 100% charge but when unplugged it shuts down as if battery is dead. Is there a fix in the BIOS or drivers?

Please try to update the Battery driver.
Right-click the Start icon, then select Device Manager. Click Batteries in the Device Manager window. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall device from the context menu. Reboot your PC

Reopen Device Manager. select Batteries. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery again. Select the Update Driver Software option from the context menu. A window will open from which you should select Search automatically for updated driver software. Windows will then find suitable battery drivers for you. Restart your system.

If that doesn't solve your problem, Open the Settings app. Then go to Windows update - Update History Then scroll to the bottom and click 'Uninstall Updates', that optional preview update (KB5041587) you have installed should be available there to uninstall. Then restart your PC to see if that solves the problem.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Please get a detailed battery report in Windows, attach or paste it here. Open Command Prompt as administrator, type powercfg /batteryreport, and press Enter. The report will be an HTML file stored in your user profile folder. Double-click the "battery-report.html" file to open it in your default web browser.

What is the full model number of the laptop? It should be something like A514-XX

The battery could have gone bad and been unable to hold power anymore.

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!
