Hey guys, i'm running an acer predator helios ph315-52. it's on its second battery (not original) which has a battery life of just 60-70% when charged.

i noticed today the temps while charging were running too hot, like 80-90C which is INSANE. how can i get the temps down?

it's likely due to a combination of factors including, a worn-out or damaged charging port can create resistance and generate heat when plugged in. A failing battery can generate more heat during charging due to internal damage or degradation.
Playing demanding games or running intensive applications while plugged in can put extra stress on the system, leading to higher temperatures. Not having proper airflow around the laptop can cause overheating. A damaged or incompatible charger can also contribute to excessive heat.

To generate a battery report on an Acer laptop using Windows, you can use the Command Prompt to run the powercfg /batteryreport command. The battery report will provide detailed information about your battery usage and capacity, including recent usage, installed battery, and battery usage.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Awesome, thanks. Will check out the battery report. I just replaced the old charging port so it's not that. I also elevated the laptop on a cooling stand so it's not the airflow either. I serviced and replaced the thermal pads a month or so ago. it's probably the battery being ***** quality and not working well anymore. I guess I'll just have to replace it. But I'll check out the report to make sure. Thanks!
