Would it be possible to upgrade the power supply on this thing even though it looks like a solid block of metal.

    If your computer has a 180 watt PSU, you can install a 300 or 500w watt PSU for this model. Because this is a single rail PSU, you should stay with the Acer part no shown below.

    Below is the specs of Power Supply Unit tested under Aspire TC-1750.


    NOTE: Technically speaking you can upgrade the PSU matching up to 450W to 600W, considering the chassis size.

    It seems like everyone has a different answer for you… What I see in the service guide for the TC-1750 is different than both of those answers:

    Look at the label on the side of your supply to see if it shows you the wattage. From the SG it should be a 500W, the smaller supplies are for other models.
