will unplugging and replugging my battery on my Aspire 5349 set it to work better. The battery on my Dell 5480 was stuck at 9% on charge mode but after I unplugged it and plugged back in it started charging properly.

The Aspire 5349 is a 13 years old laptop and if you haven't changed the battery then its well overdue for a new battery. ias that is why the battery can't be charged more than a 9% charge with the adapter, I suggest that you buy a new replacement battery from the list below.

See your existing battery number and specs that your oem battery is and match the Acer part number to that battery and look on the web for a replacement battery. Good luck.

Aspire 5349 oem Acer suggested batteries.

By removing the battery all that does is reset the bios chip program and sort of resets the laptop, for a proper Hard Reset you need to take the main battery out and disconnect the bios battery and short the bios battery plug +&- pins to reset CMOS and take the ram out, then wait about 1 hour and reconnect all components as that will reset the EC , chipset and bios chips properly. Good luck.
