Hello,

I hope you are well.

I have an ACER Aspire 3 laptop that I purchased in October of 2024 and today I have a vertical line 3/4 of the way down the screen.

I have forwarded a picture of the screen below. How can I get this display repaired? Is this covered under the Warrantee?

Regards,

Chuck

If your Acer laptop has a vertical line appearing roughly 3/4 of the way down the screen, it most likely indicates a hardware issue with the display panel, potentially caused by a faulty connection or damage to the LCD itself; this usually requires professional repair or screen replacement.

Generally, if the display lines are caused by a manufacturing defect, they would be covered under the warranty. However, if the display lines are caused by physical damage or misuse, they would not be covered.

It might be best to contact Acer support Acer Support

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

A thin vertical line on your laptop screen could be caused by a few different issues, such as a hardware problem or a software glitch. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

    1. Restart Your Laptop

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve display issues.
    2. Check for Software Issues

Update Graphics Drivers: Go to the Device Manager, find your display adapter, and update the driver.
Boot in Safe Mode: Restart your laptop in Safe Mode to see if the line appears there. If it doesn’t, it might be a software issue.
    3. Check Display Connections

If you’re comfortable, open your laptop and check the connections between the screen and the motherboard. Loose connections can cause display issues.
    4. External Monitor Test

Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the line appears on the external display, the issue is likely with your graphics card. If it doesn’t, the problem is likely with your laptop's screen.
    5. Perform a Hard Reset

Shut down your laptop, remove the battery (if possible), disconnect the power adapter, and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect everything and turn it back on.
    6. Check for Physical Damage

Inspect the screen for any cracks or damage. If the screen is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
    7. Consider Professional Repair

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be best to take your laptop to a professional technician for further diagnosis and repair.
