Hi,

Non computer literate person here. Bear with me.

Not used this laptop in years. Dug it out.

Don't know password.

In meantime the hotmail email registered is defunct and can't get password reset.

Tried all F10 options.

Tried to register SNID on Acer to request support but they don't reconginse the SNID.

Anyone know what I can do, please?

Microsoft accounts are closed after 2 years of inactivity3. If your account was closed, it cannot be reactivated

If you have already tried Microsoft Account Recovery Page, here are some steps you can try:
You can reset your Windows password using the Command Prompt:

Access Advanced Startup Options: On the login screen, hold down the Shift key and click on Restart.
Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    Use Command Prompt:
In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands:
    move c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe c:copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe
    exit
Restart your computer and click the Accessibility icon on the login screen to open Command Prompt.
Type the following command to reset your password:
    net user your_username new_password
Replace your_username with your actual username and new_password with your desired password

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

You can also try to factory reset your device. This will restore your laptop to its factory settings. Make sure to back up any important data before proceeding, as this process will erase all data on your device.

Using Alt + F10 at Startup
Turn Off Your Laptop: Ensure it is completely powered off.
    Power On and Access Recovery:
Turn on your laptop and immediately press and hold the Alt key while tapping the F10 key repeatedly until the recovery screen appears.
Choose Troubleshoot: Select Troubleshoot from the menu.
Reset this PC: Choose Reset this PC and then select either Keep my files or Remove everything.
Follow the Prompts: Complete the reset process by following the on-screen instructions.
