I have a TravelMate 8573 series and just replaced the hard drive because the old one stopped working. The laptop was running Windows 7 Professional, but I can't find the ISO file on Microsoft's website. I've tried to install Windows 10 using the media creation tool, but it gets stuck in the "Copying files" stage. How can I get windows installed?

Your TravelMate 8573 uses an HDD and could take a long time to complete the copying file stage. Try to wait about 10-20 minutes for the files to be copied.

I left the laptop for over 4 hours but it stays stuck.

When you get to the point where it asks where to install the OS, do any partitions show? If so, delete them all and use the unallocated space instead. The copying files stage can get hung if there is an existing filesystem…
