I am trying to upgrade my Acer Aspire 7 (A715-71G-5776) from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
I know that the laptop's CPU is not supported and have used the registry bypass AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU to value 1.
The TPM module is v2.0 so it is compatible.
This allows me to run through setup and choose my upgrade options however it eventually stops and states:
"What needs your attention:
This PC cannot be upgraded to this version of Windows.Your PC isnt supported yet on this version of Windows. Windows update will automatically off you this version of Windows once the issue has been resolved"
This looks like a generic message and Microsoft are never going to send me the updates for this laptop.
I have looked elsewhere, and some people who have had the same message have removed certain Apps which helped them (this was not necessarily an Acer A715-71G)
I have no idea what or if it related to an app as there is no report to provide any clues.
I have removed Virtual box as this is a known issue and I have tried to make sense of the log file Windows generates during the upgrade, but it does not offer any obvious leads. My drivers are about as up to date as they can get.
Does or has anyone successfully installed Win 11 on to this model of laptop.
It's so frustrating as the laptop is running fine and it is only the fact that from Oct this year Microsoft will not be creating any more security updates for Windows 10 that I am bothering.
I am not binning it for newer model!
Thanks.
