Can't get more than 2.5 hours of usage in Aspire A715-51G Battery Life. Any advice?

I've noticed an issue with my laptop's battery life. The specifications state that it should last around 8 hours, but I can't get more than 2.5 hours of usage.

I minimize screen brightness, enable maximum power saving mode, disable all background apps, turn off keyboard backlighting and sound, and only run Chrome (with one Wikipedia tab) and Visual Studio Code.

The laptop is about 1.5 years old. I checked the battery capacity using AIDA64, and it has degraded by 21%. I'm not sure if this is normal because I used to keep it plugged in almost all the time, except for the last six months when I had to carry it with me.

Is it normal for the capacity to drop by 21% in six months? And why does it last only 2.5 hours? With this remaining capacity, it should last at least 5 hours. What could be the issue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

If your aspire A715-51G laptop is about 2 years old then 21% depletion is a bit on the high end, but if you used it for 6 months in a mobile state then the battery depletes allot more, as recharging a battery more often depletes its design charge capacity allot more than a battery that is plugged in 24/7. As an example, my 2021 Nitro 5 laptop is 3.5 years old, but its been plugged in 24/7 and not used in a mobile state much and its battery has depleted only 19% from its design capacity when new. So you need to consider all the factors above as that is how your battery wears. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
